B.I. Electrical Double Success with Major Contract Renewals

We are proud to announce contract renewals with two major B.I. Electrical Services customers including The Belfast Education and Library Board and The Southern Education and Library Board.

The contracts which cover over 1,000 schools across Northern Ireland incorporate B.I. Electrical Services electrical contracting, mechanical and facilities management services.

The contract renewals include the Southern Education and Library Board who first awarded the work to B.I. Electrical Services in November 2011 who have decided to extend the contract for a further 12 months for their entire estate. Under the contract B.I. Electrical Services will provide electrical, mechanical and facilities management ranging from security services, air conditioning to environmental spillage and leak detection.

The second contract renewal is the Belfast Education and Library Board which was first awarded in January 2012 and will now be extended until 2014. The services that will be delivered include electrical contracting, facilities management and planned preventative maintenance and minor works.

Managing Director Ian Humphreys said that the contract renewals reinforce the Company’s expertise within the education sector and high level of customer service delivered in the implementation of previous work. He said:

“An independent assessment of our work previously by the Belfast Education and Library Board produced scoring of between 98- 100 per cent on a range of areas such as response times and quality of workmanship. These scores are even more impressive given the fact that this is based on a 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year service where approximately 25 per cent of work is of an urgent nature, including priority one calls which must be reached within an hour.

“With both these contracts given the diverse and flexible range of services that B.I. Electrical Services offers we were able to deliver added value by winning 3 separate tenders which cover all aspects of electrical contracting. The value of this is that it has provided cost savings and efficiencies given that there is one central contractor instead of a fragment approach.”

One of the schools that benefited from B.I. Electrical Services work under the current contract is Moneydarragh Primary School in Annalong. Its principal, Margaret Rogers said that the quality of the workmanship exceeded all expectations. She said:

“The work carried out by B.I. Electrical Services was excellent as was their team on site. Prior to the commencement of the project, they communicated very clearly with us, explaining the details and timetable of the work. While on site, they were very courteous and considerate, they were also very tidy in their work. The quality of the workmanship was very good and they have been exemplary in following through on training our staff in the Fire Alarm System, in snagging and in keeping to the timetable.”
